Considering the dispersion effect of the grating media, the spectral and temporal distributions of the diffracted and transmitted beams, the spectral bandwidth of the grating,as well as the diffraction efficiency of the reflection volume grating are studied both analytically and numerically. It is investigated that the spectral widths of the diffraction light are narrowed, temporal widths are broadened, and then diffraction efficiencies decrease with the dispersion effect of the grating media. In particular, the distortion and broadening of the pulsed beams are shown. They are controlled by the parameters of the grating and the input conditions. These results demonstrate that there is a new potential for the study of the diffraction of the ultrashort pulsed beam by the volume holographic gratings, such as femtosecond pulse shaping..

In the case of single sided interferogram there are usually a small portion of sampling points around the zero path difference(ZPD) for phase correction. In this paper, some aspects of data processing of the single sided interferogram are discussed in detail including apodization and phase correction. With the decrease of doping composition of Cr and the iNcr ease of doping composition of Cu,there doesn't exist an apparent absorption band in the shorter wavelength range. The higher the doping level of Cr,the larger the absorbance around 660 nm. Though 633 nm red light locates in the absorption band around 660 nm,the absorption at 633 nm will not help the photorefractive process. For LiNbO3 : Cr : Cucrystals,by changing the recording light from 633 nm red light to 514 nm green light, sensitizing with 390 nm ultraviolet light and 488 nm blue light respectively, nonvolatile holographic recording can be realized.Doping appropriate Cr (for instance: Ncr= 2.795X1025 m-3 and Ncr/Ncr=1) benefits to the improvement of holographic recording properties..

The experiment results show that the resonant amplitude of LPFG changes periodically with a period of π when the polarization angle of incident elliptical polarization light varies from 0 to 2π. The amplitude change directions of two adjacent resonants were opposite with a phase difference of π and the amplitude difference of them in the same incident polarization angle varied periodically as a zigzag wave also with a period of π. The resonant wavelengths of LPFG hardly varied when there was no mode disturbs.Based on mode couple theory, the experiment results were explained qualitatively in this paper..

The solution is adopted parallel transmission system based on optical code division multiple access. However, the signature of the parallel transmission system is a two-dimensional optical orthogonal signature patterns different from conventional signature sequences. Aiming at the problem that the construction of the maximum capacity of the optical orthogonal signature patterns (optimal optical orthogonal signature patterns) is lacked now,a novel construction algorithm based on block design is presented. The idea of the algorithm is based on the relationship between difference sets and optical orthogonal codes. If the concept of difference sets and block design can be extended to two-dimensional space, then according to the relationship between two-dimensional difference sets and optical orthogonal signature patterns, the construction of optimal optical orthogonal signature patterns can be achieved. The procedures to construct optimal optical orthogonal signature patterns are explained in detail. Simulation based on the algorithm is done. By comparing the values of theoretical calculation with the experimental values, the existence of Jahn-Teller effects in emerald crystal is confirmed and this can give more reasonable explain on the splitting of fine structures of spectra..

Based on this method,an assortment was proposed to differentiate CCDs by the relationship between pixel size and light-insensitive interval size. If the intervals are neglected,as usual, the quality of the reconstructed high-resolution image using the micro-displacing technology will be reduced, and some information of the original object might be lost. An algorithm which is available for more sorts of CCD is proposed to reconstruct high-resolution image, and the limitation of this approach is also educed. The simulation and experiment result show that the quality of the reconstructed image can be effectively improved..

Based on the imaging performance of the special marks, the relationships between alignment offsets and wafer height offsets were discussed. Then,a novel methodAs the critical dimensions in the semiconductor industry were shrinking, the influences of wafer flatness on lithographic performance became increasingly greater. Based on the imaging performance of the special marks, the relationships between alignment offsets and wafer height offsets were discussed. Then,a novel method for measuring the wafer flatness was presented. Experiments show that wafer flatness and the surface topography can be measured in situ by the technique with high accuracy. Taking into account of the nonuniformity of the adsorption power of vacuum chuck, wafer flatness can be measured with high accuracy. Compared to the level sensor based method, the spatial resolution is increased by 67%. The surface topography of the wafer can be obtained by the new method..

A magnetic lens is used to focus the electrons. Two pairs of electric deflection plates are used in the X and Y directions respectively to control the movement of the electrons, and one pair of them will act as a scanning plate while measuring the pulse width of electrons. The sample chamber is made of stainless steel, and in the middle of the chamber there is a specimen holder, capable of shifting in three dimensions and turning around its axis. The diffraction pattern recording system has a very high detecting efficiency, and even a single electron could be detected. A cascade MCP detector is used to ensure an electron gain reached to 104. The electron gun is in a vacuum system of 10-4 Pa. The whole gun is shielded by a μ-metal sheath. The designed temporal resolution of the ultra-fast electron diffraction system(UED) is about 358fs..

In the experiment steady and visible diffraction patterns were obtained, and the obvious asymmetry of patterns was observed for the first time. Theoretically the approximate conditions of the surface wave diffraction were analyzed, and the corresponding analytic expression of angle width of diffraction patterns was derived, which explained the asymmetry distribution well. The symmetry distribution of diffraction pattern is a universal rule. And whether it can be observed obviously depends on the ratio of the wavelength of surface wave and light. The bigger the ratio is,the more obvious the asymmetry distribution is . Under the condition that the surface wavelength is close to the light wavelength, the diffraction patterns can be considered as a kind of symmetry distribution approximately..
