    Abstract

With the development of solid-state laser and the chirped pulse amplification technology, the laser peak power has been greatly increased, which has promoted the research of laser matter interaction and derived applications with good prospects. Compact laser-driven ion accelerators are one of the most important applications. The laser accelerated proton has the characteristics of small source volume, short pulse time and high time resolution, which can be widely used in proton imaging, medical treatment and scientific research fields, and can effectively reduce the related costs in these fields, and promote the efficient development. There are many conditions that affect the obtaining of high-quality ion beam, some recent advances in this field are summarized and prospected from the perspective of target shape and the properties of plasma formed after laser interaction.
