Chaff Jamming plays an irreplaceable role in radar passive countermeasures. At the same time, the theory, methods and effectiveness of chaff jamming is urgent needed to be researched in-depth for the development of equipments. Based on the situation of chaff movement, diffusion and radar echo characteristics at home and abroad, the comparison of chaff jamming development situation and the threat analysis, the scientific problems and development of chaff jamming in passive radar jamming field are put forward. The research prospects of airborne chaff jamming is described, which provides a new way of innovative development for chaff jamming and thoughts for effectively promoting the advancement of our country’s chaff jamming technology, equipment development and tactical operation.
