Since the object is incoherent IR imaging system, imaging effect and image disperse or energey disperse effect in energey domain are only considered for optic system effect. In general, optic system quality can described by MTF. Point-expanded function can be calculated using MTF, and optic system effect model can be established based on point-expanded function. So long as MTF is accurate, the fidelity of optics system effect model established by this way can be guaranteed..

If targets rotate, it is difficult to find the relationship among the projecting curves of the same targets in different orientations. In order to overcome this default, two kinds of statistic methods called circular integral projecting and circular grads integral projecting are proposed based on circular projecting. Furthermore those methods are compared with horizontal integral projecting and vertical integral projecting. The experimental result shows that the curves corresponding to circular integral projecting and circular grads integral projecting own excellent steadiness when target rotates and flexes..

A hybrid RBF training algorithm combined with artificial immune clustering and evolutionary programming is proposed and applied in modulation-style recognition of radar signals. In the algorithm, artificial immunology for data clustering was used to adaptively determine the amount and the positions of initial RBF centers according to input data set. Then the RBF network was trained with evolutionary programming. Computer simulations demonstrate that the recognition rate of different analog modulation styles designed by the RBF network in this method is high..

It was helpful to reduce the ambiguity of objects in the images by utilizing other information referred to as context, which in our case was the identity of the accompanying objects. Airports were typical multi-component class of objects with obvious orientation. The original image was decomposed into multiple spatial frequences and orientation selective channels by Gabor filters. Each channel corresponded to one feature image. Radon transform was adopted to extract line features from these feature images. According to the knowledge about the structural information of airports, a series of rules to determine the airport in the image were used..

With the increased importance of security and organization, identification and authentication methods were developed into a key technology in various areas such as entrance control in building. Face recognition method based on probabilistic principle component analysis (PPCA) was proposed. However, a notable feature of traditional PCA was the absence of an associated probabilistic model for the observed data. A probabilistic formulation of PCA from a Gaussian latent variable model was obtained, which was closely related to statistical factor analysis. The parameters of PPCA could be determined using EM algorithm. In experiments, the proposed methods have been successfully evaluated using two different datasets. The experimental results show that the face recognition method based on PPCA is superior to the method based on the traditional PCA..

A new type of re-entry integrate fiber optics gyroscope(IFOG) which can remain the features of low-cost, high-temperature-stability and miniaturization is proposed. By use of the Transition-mode Multifunction Integrated-Optics Chip (TMIOC),it will eliminate the eigen loss caused by the multiple re-entry in fiber-ring. It will reduce the total loss of the light and raise the signal noise ratio. It can realize the high sensitivity FOG system without the semiconductor optical amplifier(SOA).The phase modulator (PM) of the TMIOC is made up of the anneal proton exchange waveguide (APE) which has natural high-polarization feature. The Polarization-mode Splitter (PS) of the TMIOC uses the method of dual-module couple and attains the separation of the two polarization modes. The separation ratio can reach 20 dB. The polarized-mode transition (PT) of the TMIOC makes the conversion of the polarization mode TE and TM with the acoustic-optics mode conversion. The efficiency of the conversion can reach over 99%, and the power of the acoustic is less than 20mW.The items of the device are apt to the longer fiber and the less re-entry times at present . It can meet the demands of the high sensitivity FOG system. The improvement of the device , for example , improvement of the response speed and reduction of the couple loss , will make the device be used in the descendant-FOG with shorter fiber , more re-entry times , miniaturization , high sensitivity and low-cost.

The laser beam quality is a topic of current interest. For a real laser, there exists hard-aperture optics more or less. For a real laser, there exists hard-aperture optics more or less. On the other hand, the people are often concerned about the focusability of laser beams in the far field. The extension of the beam propagation factor (M~2 factor) to the apertured case is discussed. Three typical approaches to truncated beams, i.e. the generalized truncated second-moments method, asymptotic analysis and self-convergent-beam-width method, as well as their applications are analyzed. The power in the bucket (PIB) and β-parameter are used to characterize the beam quality in the far field. Then, some practical requirements for the laser beam quality and related characteristic parameters are studied. Finally, a brief discussion about the beam quality control of a complicated high-power laser system as a whole is made in this paper..
